April 2021: Krehalon successfully migrated to new ERP

Krehalon is a company in the food packaging industry that has worked with ERP system BPCS on IBM i since 1999. Now, after more than 20 years, Krehalon switches to a new ERP solution and in the preparation phase, they checked which data could be migrated.

Partly due to COVID-19, there was extra pressure on the project and just weeks before the go live, there was an urgent need for specialist expertise. After some searching through the various networks, Krehalon found XMART Netherlands and came to an agreement with Peter Monster, who not only has in-depth knowledge of BPCS and IBM i, but who also worked on several projects for Krehalon and a subsidiary between 2002 and 2011.

We were able to act quickly and within a few days the VPN was arranged and the connection to IBM i was (re)established. A special detail was that Peter's user account was still on the Krehalon system, so our work could start without much delay. Apart from solving a number of open issues for production and sales, the most important task was to export specific data from BPCS and the customised production system, which could then be used as a starting point for the new ERP solution. After some puzzling, test runs, adjustments and extensions, a number of standard data sets were ready to support the go live process.

During the weekend of 17 April 2021, Krehalon used this data to go live with their new ERP solution. We can look back at a successful and ad hoc cooperation!
